A new cottage in Portuguese style, located inside the Natural Park of Costa Vicentina, away from the massive tourism areas. It is 15 km until the next town, the picturesque  Aljezur. The beautiful beach of Vale Figueiras is 4 km from the apartment. Very quiet even in the high season, it is common that you find yourself alone on this beach in the medium and low seasons.  Up to 5 km westwards from Aljezur there are other beaches, like Praia da Amoreira.

The small cottage has 30 m² living area, and is designed for 2 persons (eventually 3 persons, sofa bed available).  It comprises one shower room, a kitchenette, a dining table seating 3 persons, as well as a sleeping area with twin beds, separated from the living area by a closet.  Beds can be arranged as a total of 1.40 m x 2 m sleeping area.  There are one TV with DVD player (with a number of English speaking movies) and one radio.  If required, an internet access can be installed (charged as per consumption). In a store room one finds beach mattresses and parasols, as well as a wash machine.  The house is surrounded by a terrace facing east.  There is a large BBQ.

Nearby is the owners' house, that is used only during summer holidays.
There is a small splash pool for communal use.
In Winter, the house can be heated with electric heaters.  Electricity will be charged as per consumption.

Sleeps 2-3 persons, self catering.

The picturesque town of Aljezur is 10 Km distant, with the ruins of the ancient Moorish castle rising high above the town.  In addition to several supermarkets, there is a market hall selling fresh fruits, vegetables, bread, meat and fish.  There are several art shops, post office and several banks, as well as a shop for natural bio products, and several restaurants and cafés.

Some 4 Km from the property you find a beautiful beach: Vale Figueiras.  It is very calm, even in the high season, in middle season is almost desert.  A quantity of trekking paths can be used in this area, across nature scenarios of undisturbed beauty and magnificent cliffs that have earned the qualification of protected area.

Many other beaches can be found nearby, like Praia da Amoreira, around 5 Km west from Aljezur, in area of beautiful dunes landscape.  Here, a river comes into the ocean, building small water pools during low tide that make the delights of small children for safe bathing.  South from the property you will find the beach of Carrapateira, also with dunes and a larger water pool during low tide.

In 25 km drive you reach the city of Lagos, with a large choice of entertainment possibilities, like sailing, boats renting, surfing, scuba diving or boat tours.   Also the old city of Lagos is worth a visit.

You are also only 25 km from Sagres, the south westernmost point of Europe.  Here, pone should visit the lighthouse and the old navigation school founded by Henry the Navigator, where the epopee of the Discoveries started.
