These three houses, located on the north side of the island, 17 Km the from the centre of Funchal, at an altitude of 1000 meters, are in the centre of the indigenous forest of Madeira, the Laurisilva forest classified as world patrimony. The propriety where the houses are implanted, with over 40 acres and its surrounding offer a great variety of walks, outstanding the levada da Serra do Faial, which passes at ten minutes walking distance and offers moments of unforgettable contact with nature along its 40 Km.
The rustic houses (living areas between 40-68 m²), decorated with country motives, are equipped with a sitting and dining room with fire place, 1 double or twin bedroom, equipped kitchenette and 1 bathroom.
Every house has central heating and private outside space with a barbecue.

Ribeiro Frio
Not far from Santo da Serra on the northern slopes of the island you will find a very popular starting point for ‘levada’ walks. Ribeiro Frio (cold river) still has much of the original vegetation today. The island was once totally covered with ‘Laurissilva’ forest, a relic from prehistoric times.
Ribeiro Frio’s governmental trout farm is always worth a visit. You can view the hatchery and round off your visit to the local restaurant with a freshly cooked trout or a chouriço sausage grilled on a clay pig on your table!
