Beautiful family house set in a quiet area of Colares, near the beaches of Praia das Maçãs, Praia Grande and the Sintra Natural Park. The 40 years old restored detached villa is set in a beautiful area, 1.5 km away from the delightful beaches of Praia Grande and Praia das Maçãs. The distinctive town of Sintra, classified by UNESCO as World Heritage Site, is just 10 km away. Along the coast of Sintra, there are numerous sand beaches. Some of the most popular beaches are Samarra, Magoito, Azenhas do Mar and Praia da Adraga. Some of Portugal’s renowned golf courses, such as Penha Longa or Quinta da Beloura are just a short drive away. There is also a driving range just 6 km from the house. Nearby interesting towns such as Estoril and Cascais are about 18-20 km distant and the capital Lisbon is about 30 km away.
Implanted in an 1800 m2 private grounds in a residential area with typical family villas sheltered by tall pine trees, this lovely two storey villa is comfortably furnished, offering all the commodities and it is close to restaurants and grocery stores.
In the upper floor there is 1 double bedroom with en suite bathroom and 2 twin bedrooms, one being more suitable for children. Both twin bedrooms have views to the garden and one has access to a small balcony overlooking the swimming pool area. On the same floor there is also 1 bathroom and a spacious living room with fireplace, cable television, VCR, DVD and radio.
A few steps lead to the lower floor which has 1 double bedroom with en suite shower room and 1 double bedroom with en suite bathroom. The kitchen is fully equipped with a hob, fridge/freezer, microwave; dishwasher, oven, washing machine, kettle, toaster, iron and board. Next to the kitchen there is a charming dining room with French windows opening to the pool area and to a lovely patio surrounded by pine trees.
The garden is partially sheltered by pine trees offering a relaxing shade during the warmer months, and is divided into two distinct sides. At the front you have several pine trees, at the back there is the private swimming pool, the barbecue area and a lush lawn. The private swimming pool measures 4,2 x 8 m with its depth varying from 0,9 to 1,90 m and includes sun loungers, parasols and garden furniture.
There is a bus stop outside the house that will take you into Sintra; from here there is transportation to everywhere.
Use of car not essential, but recommended.

Praia das Maçãs is located 13 Km west from Sintra. This small village offers one of the best sandy beaches in the region. Life here is still undisturbed. Only in week-ends can you meet a few more visitors looking for relaxation. In Praia das Maçãs one finds everything required for the day to day needs. There are two small supermarkets, butchery, bakery, a post office, a few shops and some good restaurants. On weekdays, there is a small open air market offering fresh fruits and vegetables, as well as a lot of other items. An old tramway was reactivated, and travels again between Praia das Maçãs and the entrance of Sintra during summertime.
There are a large number of interesting places to visit in the area. Short south of Praia das Maçãs one finds Praia Grande, at the footsteps of the Sintra mountains. The small village of Azenhas do Mar (2 Km north) is an unforgettable picture, with its houses hanging on the cliff above the ocean.
