Surrounded by large, secluded grounds this property is in a fantastic position and has breathtaking views of the countryside. As it is a much loved second home, the villa is comfortably furnished and tastefully decorated. The sitting room is built on the upper level of the house to take advantage of the scenery, with doors opening onto an outdoor terrace with table and chairs ideal for outdoor dining.
The property enjoys complete independence and privacy. The exterior is absolutely delightful with the extensive lawns being one of the features of this property. Besides the newly built swimming pool, there is a 5 a side football ground which can also be converted into a volleyball court for 4 people - a delight for children and adults.
Activities such as horseback riding in the mountains and water sports (including water rafting in the Minho river) are available in the area.

Situated in a region that has many sites of great archaeological interest, Paredes de Coura was particularly important during the Wars of Restoration fought between Portugal and Spain in the seventeenth century. In recent years, the town has begun to attract large crowds of young people in August, who are drawn here by the music festival held on the banks of the River Coura. In August, don't miss the four-day Paredes de Coura Festival. Bands, playing mainly alternative rock, perform in a natural amphitheatre at the river beach of Tabuão, near the town of Paredes de Coura in the region of Oporto and the North.
The Paredes de Coura Festival takes place on the third weekend of August drawing in thousands for the very best in rock music.
Rock music has one great venue - Paredes de Coura and its annual summer festival. The Northern coast of Portugal plays host to this great musical event.
The organisation is friendly and there is a full range of services including everything from food and beverages to security and toilet facilities more than able to cope with the numbers in attendance. The camping is free and the festival itself plays on in a natural amphitheatre.
Paredes de Coura has plenty to attract on its own merit: archaeology, its natural surroundings and gastronomy. Radical sports are also catered for. Canoe and jeep safaris are one option and there are the river islands home to wild ducks, fisher-birds and other wildlife.The "Exploring the Santiago Way" path opens up the surrounding landscapes, agriculture, windmills and other rural traditions.
Begin outside the council hall, in front of the Pillory, before heading onto the Regional Museum. In Infesta, visit the trout farm. The Church of N.ª Sr.ª da Purificação is another attraction.
Throughout your hike around Paredes de Coura and Rubiães, look out for the millennium old legacy of the Church of S. Pedro graveyard, before taking a break in the "Bom Retiro" restaurant.
