Brand new apartment in the village of Garajau, Caniço, 5 walking minutes from restaurants and other amenities, very close to a hotel with night entertainment. Bus line to Funchal takes about 15 minutes, and it is 20 walking minutes from the beach of Garajau, where scuba diving and snorkeling can be organized. Car hire can be of use but it is not essential.

Located in the third floor of a small apartment complex and served by lifts, the nicely furnished apartment consists of 2 double rooms (one of them with en suite bathroom), 1 shower room, spacious living room with plasma TV, DVD and sound system, dining area seating 6 persons, fully equipped kitchen, utility room and a verandah with table and chairs to have a meal al fresco or just seat and enjoy the sunshine and the views. Outside, guests share a communal swimming pool, small garden and children play area.

Cleaning and linen provided at the end of each complete week for stays of no less than 2 weeks.

Garajau is a small, lively village that boasts many shops, bars and restaurants. Set on the south coast of Madeira it enjoys beautiful views to the sea and a wonderful climate.

The ‘Ponta do Garajau’ is a well-known promontory on top of a sea cliff and the main attraction of Garajau.

If you are missing the city feel, there is a daily bus service to take you to the hustle and bustle of Funchal or there is also the alternative to take a taxi.

In the seas around Madeira, big game fish species are plentiful, attracting fishermen from all over the world. Tuna, albacore and marlin are all to be found in the local waters.

As for diving, the Garajau Nature Reserve is famous worldwide.
The Garajau Nature Reserve is the only exclusively marine reserve in Portugal. Amongst the fauna to be observed here are some large-sized fish, such as the black grouper. The reserve is considered to be one of the world’s major tourist attractions for amateur divers and an area of great scientific, recreational and tourist interest.

Relaxing Holiday

We stayed here May 2010, the weather wasnt great but we still had a relaxing time. There were 4 of us in our group all under 30, i would say were were definatly too young to holiday here, but the apartment made up for that by having cable tv and lots of Dvds to watch. It was lovely and clean and very modern. We would definatly recommend this to people the photos are very accurate.
I would how ever mention that some stickers of some sort be put onto the patio door as we had 2 people walk into it when it was closed.... oops!
Managing agents were very helpful and would overall recommend this destination to anyone who is fit and able!
